The Necromancer (The Beginning)
For the longest time, I'm thinking of creating a new set of comics with new characters and stuff. And I'm like, "ok, coming 2019 I will focus on this!" But everything is half-baked on my mind because things are really busy right now and I couldn't focus on this as much as I would like. So we'll see what happens. In the meantime, this is a teaser of sorts of a new beginning.

In the City, In the Jungle, In the Stars
IN THE CITY
I hugged my son close to my chest as I pointed to the three starts forming a straight line above.
“Pretty stars,” I cooed. “Just like you!” And I placed a kiss on my giggling son’s forehead.
“Dada will be home soon,” I whispered, almost to myself rather than the wriggling child on my arms. “He is in a very important mission but he will soon be retiring and will be with us permanently.”
I stared at the twinkling stars above and prayed silently. Please God, keep my husband safe and sound until he comes back home to us.
IN THE JUNGLE
I felt as though I’m in some sort of horror movie. There was always a possibility that this would happen but imagining was still different from reality.
I staggered to my feet and stumbled through a patch of grass. My side was burning and I’ve lost so much blood. Add that to the fact that I haven’t eaten in two days and you’ve got one almost-dead man.
How could this happen to the team? I thought. I should be packing to go back home, for heaven’s sake! Everything was in order until the rebels found their way to our camp and suddenly attacked us.
I rolled on my back and stared up the starry skies. My strength was leaving me and I was suddenly very, very tired.
In another part of the world, two important people were waiting for me to come back home. I reached up the three shining starts within my vision, regrettably sorry that they will be waiting for nothing.
I love you both, I thought as my hand dropped wearily to my side and everything became dim. Please be safe.
IN THE STARS
I was called “the witch of the three stars” and I heard two soft whispers.
Keep my husband safe and sound until he comes back home to us.
I love you both. Please be safe.
I peered through my window and saw a woman and a baby in the city and a bleeding man in the jungle.
This would not do, I thought as I walk to my spellbook. I flipped through the pages and found a special spell called “The Spell of the Three People.”
“Perfect!” I cried as I throw some ingredients in my cauldron.
Three people in need.
United by dreams, by blood.
Three by three by three.
Love will set you free.
I smiled in satisfaction after I said the chant. Somehow I know that in three days, these three people will be together again.
I clapped my hand in glee as I close the spellbook. Job well done once again for the witch of the three stars.

Hand Lettering Postcards
It seems like I'm interested more in hand lettering than in comic-making these days so I'll probably be uploading more of my hand lettering postcards. Or maybe I've just been looking more into instagram nowadays so those photos-which-show-a-story is rubbing off on me.
I'm always jealous of those who not only makes great illustrations but takes great photos as well. Both illustrating and taking photos do not come easily to me; although I honestly think I've improved my illustrating skills throughout the years.

Room 203
I was thinking of creating a comic strip with Hades in honor of Halloween. But I thought there might be some other death-related Greek Mythology Gods which led me to Thanatos.
Thanatos is the Greek God of Peaceful Death, the personification of death itself. His touch is gentle and he carries off humans to the underworld when it is their time to go. I think it's cool that he seems not to be a scary god and that he shows that death could be non-violent and peaceful.

There are no Aliens Here
So at first I wanted to make this an alien short story. Alas, it turned out to be a comic strip again. :-S

The Seal and the Shark
This was inspired by all those shark Youtube videos I've been watching recently. I know, I'm such a nerd.

The Sleeping Princess
This isn't the first time I've done a Sleeping Beauty-inspired comic strip. It's just such an iconic Fairy Tale that I always think about it whenever I'm in the mood to create something fairy tale-ish. Here is the first one I created a long time ago!

Cattle Herding
And on to some blog news:
So I finally succombed and got a new domain name. I guess I just grew tired of my old domain (www.homemadecomicstrips.com) and thought I don't want it to seem like I just post comic strips all the time. And since I've had "Snippets in Colors" in my mind for a few months now, I went ahead and got that domain. So www.snippetsincolors.com it is!

Selene and Endymion: The Reality
Sometimes "reality" does not meet expectations.
Backstory of this Greek Myth Cartoon:
Selene is the Goddess of the Moon and she had a crush on Endymion. She asked Zeus to let him sleep forever in exchange of eternal youth (in other stories, it was Endymion who asked this). And so Selene visits Endymion every night while he sleeps, contented with just having a glimpse of his "beauty".

Ouija Connection
I rarely inject dark topics in my comic strips (I reserve my short stories for that) but there's always a first time.

The Gloomy Underworld
So I know I depicted Persephone in a not-so-good light in this comic strip but in reality, she and Hades are my favorite couple.

A Modern, Short Story of the Pandora's Box
I was going through YouTube videos of vloggers who bought Mystery Boxes the other day. Since I'm currently in a minimalist living phase, I'm pretty sure I'll regret buying something like that. But I have to admit, it's a super fun concept although people most of the time just get trash.
