038: The Wish

I made this while thinking how that one big thing we're trying to achieve may not be our ultimate dream at all.  This is the irony in Kat's story -- how she has all the fame, money and prestige yet what she really wants is something a little more simple.  It is also ironic that this "something simple" could be done by just about anyone but her!

So what I want to impart is this: do what you want to do whether it's simple or hard and know that nothing is impossible in life!  I know for a fact that Kat will be able to play hopscotch, she just have to figure out a way how.

035: N.O.P.E. Indeed

* N.O.P.E. - Network of Photo Enthusiasts

Sometimes I have to step back and realize that I am depicting a brood of twelve-year olds.  But reality is from time to time I'll inject subjects mostly associated with adults -- in this case entrepreneurship and programming.

Besides, it is never too early to show interest on these subjects.  I don't want to pigeonhole anybody, male or female, young or old.

Dyesebel (the Mermaid)

If somebody were to ask me what my first cartoon is, I would have to say it's this one.  I made this years ago when the series Dyesebel is airing and I was enamored with it.  Dyesebel is one of the well-known sirena (mermaid) in Philippine history and has numerous comic books, movies and TV series under her belt.  And who could forget Fredo, Dyesebel's love interest?

Definitely unearthed from my archives!  I also decided to add an English translation underneath.

Translation in English: (note that this is not a direct translation.  Just so that the punchline will not be lost.)

Frame # 1--
Dyesebel: Fredo, drink this medicine so that we could be together under the sea forever.
Fredo: Yes, just for you Dyesebel my love.

Frame # 2 --
Dyesebel: Its effect is fast.  In a little while you will be a...

Frame # 3 --
Fredo: ...sea monster?!?!  Not a merman??
Dyesebel: There's no need to whine...
